Platform

Research that shows its work.

Ask a tax question in plain words. Virtus searches the primary sources, writes an answer that cites them sentence by sentence, and opens every citation on its page.

Illustrative

Sources first. Answers second.

An answer is built from the record, then checked against it before you see it.

Ask and search

  • Ask in plain words, or with a Code section, a document number or a citation.
  • Virtus searches written determinations, the Code, the regulations and revenue procedures.
  • What does not bear on the question is set aside before anything is written.

Answer and check

  • Each sentence carries a numbered citation to the source it stands on.
  • Before the answer is shown, every sentence is checked against the passage it cites.
  • What the source does not support is removed. With no support at all, the answer says so.

Around the answer

Carry an answer into the work.

The library, the page, your projects and your memos keep the same sources in view.
